Why "Color Out of the Lines"?
The title reflects the spirit of this series: the freedom to create, live, and express yourself beyond traditional boundaries. “Color” symbolizes vibrancy and diversity, while “Out of the Lines” encourages us to break free from societal norms and embrace our unique identities. This series is more than a collection of events—it’s a celebration of what makes the queer community so beautifully diverse and innovative.
1. Queer Pasta Workshop
by Vegan Bear Chef - 15.02.2025
We immersed ourselves in the art of Italian tradition with a vibrant and inclusive twist! In this hands-on cooking workshop, we learned how to make fresh pasta from scratch while exploring the magic of natural colors made with herbs, spices, and vegetable reductions.
We began with an introduction to different flours, traditional pasta-making techniques, and tips for drying, cooking, and pairing pasta with delicious sauces.
Each participant prepared their own dough, infusing it with unique colors of their choice. After letting the dough rest, we experimented together with shaping various pasta formats—using just our hands or simple kitchen tools.
A portion of the pasta was cooked and shared during the workshop, while the rest was taken home to enjoy later.

2. Queer Art Painting Workshop

Marcela Perrusquía is a Mexican visual artist and art educator based in Amsterdam. Her artistic practice explores the intersection of surreal and real worlds, challenging the notion of reality. As an art educator, her workshops focus on often-overlooked artists throughout art history, offering participants a unique art experience that celebrates creativity and inspires personal artistic expression.
We celebrated queer art history by highlighting the incredible contributions of queer artists who have shaped and challenged the way we perceive art today. In a relaxed and inclusive environment, we explored their lives, stories, and creative techniques.
The workshop started with a short interactive lesson, followed by a group activity to spark our creativity. Then, each participant created a personal painting inspired by themes of queerness and self-expression.
It was a beautiful opportunity to connect, feel inspired, and unlock our artistic selves—no prior experience was needed.

A dynamic performer with a deep passion for both genres, Martina has graced prestigious stages, including the Teatro Zandonai and Teatro Ristori in Italy, as well as the Laaktheater and Tivoli Vredenburg in the Netherlands.
We experienced an exclusive evening of music and queer celebration. The Queer Concert Concept was a unique event where every moment was inspired by artists who have become queer icons in Italy and around the world.
The night featured a stunning live performance by Martina Effy, a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist known for her soulful voice and heartfelt interpretations that moved and inspired the audience.
Her voice and guitar provided an intimate and unforgettable soundtrack for the evening.
During dinner, participants responded to a series of prompts, discussing them with their tablemates to define what qualities a true queer icon should embody. This collective reflection created a moment of deep connection and meaningful conversation.
Surprises and special touches throughout the evening made the experience even more memorable.
